1/4/2024 0 Comments Tidal pools resto shaman3/3 Buffeting Waves is a flat 15% permanent boost whereas Tidal Chains is a 9% Haste HW boost / 12% crit bonus for HS which is already weaker but even bigger when you consider the fact that tidal waves is no where near 100% uptime. Objectively the right path is stronger in every way, despite the playstyle you go.ģ/3 Buffeting waves is objectively stronger than 3/3 tidal chains in every scenario even if tidal waves was up 100% of the time (which it obviously never is). Most of our power comes from our baseline spells + talents, not our artifact which is perfectly fine. It probably won't make a massive difference if someone uses 1 point non-optimally. However, most will still probably take it just because it is a single point artifact and some simply deem those as 'good' and others just don't care about spending 1 point even if it isn't optimal. ![]() And remember, 2.8% is only if you are incessantly spamming CH which is not what we will do on live. This is such a paltry amount for a 'single point' artifact, but that is how it currently is. ![]() If you further take out high tide, this drops to 2.8% mana. If you take out the 10% crit, refreshing currents would have only generated 3.5% mana. That, and we simply won't have the 10% CH artifact for about ~1.5 months or so into the expansion (based on blue posts and current beta play). Ancient Mana Potion netted (the new mana pot which is not the strong 'dreamless' version which gives even more) me ~13-14% mana.Īnd this was an extreme example since this is a ludicrous amount of CH to do in 4 minutes currently on beta. Other non-refreshing current resurgence contributions netted me 33.8% mana. In contrast, I had just shy of 170% of my mana regained from my base regen in the 3:30 long pulls. However, refreshing currents only netted me 5% additional mana in this encounter. Just from this crazy amount of CHs and the fact that I had high tide (so an extra bounce for an extra resurgence proc chance) + the 10% crit artifact (which we won't have to begin the expansion as it will be the 2nd to last artifact we reach), you would think refreshing currents actually would return something worthwhile. I look at some of my 3.5 - 4 minute (longest attempts anyone actually had) pulls on chronomatic mythic (Monday raid test, but like I said it is painfully obvious from all the raid tests) where I CH'd about double what I would do on live (as evident by being OoM within 3 minutes). Most will pick up refreshing currents since its just 1 point, but for a single point artifact, the returns are very mediocre, and this has been very evident throughout ample raid testing since it was implemented at some point in March or April in beta. ![]() Still, I talk to other shaman and they don't have issues (though to be fair, most healers don't have problems in anything below 10+) with the higher difficulties. But I have sort of slowed down on beta now. I don't have any trouble anymore for anything sub mythic 7-9+ (I have not attempted anything higher) even with the timer. It is still basically HS spam over and over again which isn't the most fun, but it works. I heard they are not great in mythic +Lot stronger now especially with the baseline TW buffs, the CW buff and the fact that more and more people are finding ways to take advantage of CBT (once you get a feel for the average 5 man pull and when best to recall, this thing's value just keeps going up).
